97 Bonnie and Clyde is often so negatively viewed by people, because they are unable to see Eminem’s reconciliation attempt with Kim and the expression of his unconditional love for his daughter.

After the flop of the Infinite album, Kim simply left Marshall and she didn’t allow him to see Hailie. All the pain that is linked to this event is expressed in Bonnie and Clyde.

Mike Mazur, Eminem’s former boss from 1993 to 1997, talks about Marshall’s worries about his daughter:

He would come in to work and worry and say, ‘The bitch took my daughter and won’t let me see her. I don’t know what I’m going to do. I don’t know what I’m going to do.

In 2001, Eminem stated about Kim :

Whenever we fight she takes Hailie away and uses her as a weapon against me.

This is actually what Kim used to do in 1997, when she wouldn’t allow Marshall to see his daughter.

To those who are shocked by Eminem’s words in the song, explaining why he had to bury Hailie’s mom, try to look at the circumstances Eminem was going through as a father. Kim wouldn’t allow him to see Hailie. His step father even threatened him with a gun in order to forbid him to see his daughter.

Eminem didn’t use force, he didn’t kidnap Hailie. His only weapons and SOS calls were his words :

So when Kim allowed him to see Hailie again, he made her believe that he was taking her to Chuck E Cheese while he was recording his little girl’s voice on the track. A strong call for Kim Eminem wanted back in his life. A strong call for her to also consider that nothing could tear him away from his daughter which is strongly expressed in the chorus :

Disgusted listeners, let me tell you this : Kim’s murder is only fictional, the story is a surrealistic murder tale. Eminem’s pain and his love and devotion towards his daughter are real. Kim has driven Eminem mad, he expresses all his pain and bitterness in the song. Apparently she betrayed him too :

Have you ever thought this so “shockingly awful” song Eminem has written by Eminem for Kim to listen to? His strategy was to get Kim back. And it worked.

Although Kim may have found the content of 97 Bonnie and Clyde weird, she went back with Marshall. Those are her words about the song where she symbolically gets murdered:

Some people may reproach Eminem to exploit his daughter on his tracks for his own success. I don;t see it like that. I think Eminem does it as a tribute to his daughter. His love and devotion towards Hailie are summarized in those words :
