And then think back at how much of the world felt sorry for the USA back then. In a blink of an eye, much of the entire world smothers multiculturalism with paranoia.
Still remember turning on the radio whilst driving through the wilds of Norfolk and wondering why Radio 1 was only playing soothing mood music. Slowly realisation dawned that something momentous/terrible must have happened… Nasty day.
