		<description>Its the detail that is interesting. On 7th November O&#039;Donoghue and his Private Secretary O&#039;Connor travel to London (after lunch). Presumably they are driven to Dublin airport, flights paid for, transport in London paid for, they attend an official function - at which they get a buffet supper, followed by dinner.

Yet our hero O&#039;Donoghue gets €116.50 (less a €20 deduction) and O&#039;Connor gets £67.68 (about €100) in expenses. For what? What expense could they possibly incur? And if they did, form shows that O&#039;Connor will claim for it - see her claim for tablets for the Indian trip.

So if they incur a legitimate (as opposed to appropriate) expense they get it re-imbursed. And then they get a top up.

If I claimed a similar thing in my business the revenue would tell me to take a hike.

But then I&#039;m one of  the gobshites who will be bled dry to pay for this gravy train.</description>
