Just a point of information about Cannes and the 35,000€ costs for JOD. The Irish Film Board cannot afford to host their own stand at the festival so they squeeze in with the Northern Ireland Film Board. It is impossible to get government funding for the promotion of smaller films in Cannes. 35,000€ would go a long way to doing this.

2 further observations -
1. why does it take 12 of them to have dinner with 4 local journalists?

2. Mass pops up again here - "timing not conducive to Mass". Wonder if the 7th commandment "Thou shalt not steal" ever featured in a sermon?

It's being flagged that he's going to make a formal statement to the Dáil when it re-convenes. I suspect the statement might be summarised in two words, the first beginning with f, the second beginning with o.

Same old story of double dipping - Joxer, the wife, the Private Secretary all get subsistence allowances for lunch dinner etc but all the lunches and dinners are paid for. The tax free income scam continues - if any of us got paid twice for the same thing and did not declare it on our tax return we are guilty of a criminal offence.
