The Irish Film Board cannot afford to host their own stand at the festival so they squeeze in with the Northern Ireland Film Board. It is impossible to get government funding for the promotion of smaller films in Cannes. 35,000€ would go a long way to doing this. The tax free income scam continues - if any of us got paid twice for the same thing and did not declare it on our tax return we are guilty of a criminal offence.
