It would be funny if they were given a really really slow Internet connection and was not told before they got to the Island.
It makes sense though -if you had the internet connection you could still read books and newspapers and listen to the radio and watch (some) TV. It wouldn’t be quite the same as the real thing, but better than having nothing at all.
