Taoiseach's salary

Is it not a bit high now? I don’t begrudge ministers or prime ministers high salaries for running countries, but Ireland has the population of… 4m (about Manchester and Birmingham greater areas combined).

Why should the Taoiseach be paid more than the President of the United States – a job many would consider to be a far more difficult and taxing position. Random Walk concurs.

    Whatever Bertie Ahern is paid is well earned. He has shown himself to be someone who is prepared to work tirelessly for peace whereas George Bush on the other hand is it would seem committed to war, whatever the consequences for his own people or for others.
