By the fourth quarter of 2003, Eminem’s fourth solo album was about half-way finished. But late last year, the majority of his songs such as “Bully,” “Come On,” “Monkey See, Monkey Do,” “Love You More” and “We As Americans” was leaked and made its way onto the Internet.
“I was about six to eight songs deep,” Eminem told XXL magazine. “Now I’m about three to four. It’s so painfull to have them things go; it’s all a work in progress. Choruses can be changed, lines can be changed, there are certain lines on the shit that I feel like I can hit better. Those [leaked songs] were a day in the studio, making a song, and you go home at night with it and that’s what you live with until you’re ready to mix it down. The mix from the rough version is like night and day.”
Eminem’s upcoming fourth album will along with 50 Cent’s second album be released in the third quarter of 2004. It features guest appearances from D-12 and G-Unit and production by Dr. Dre and Em himself.
“I really like Slim Shady,” Dr. Dre, who’s executive producing the album, commented. “I like him talking shit and pissing people off. That’s where he’s gonna go next, talking shit and raising eyebrows.”
“Eminem fans will not be disappoined,” manager Paul Rosenberg told XXL magazine. “He’s gonna have a lot of responses to everything that’s going on. No stones will be left unturned.”

Eminems album will not be called Straight From the Lab, that’s just a name given to the collection of leaked songs because at the time they were discovered and bootlegged nobody knew the songs were intended for his next album. Someone said it was called “To Be Determined” but i haven’t heard that anywhere personally. Honestly, the album could change names and the lyrics could alter. Certain songs might not make the final production and be left as unmastered. The truth is with an album being that premature theres no way to be sure of anything at this point. Sometimes in the final stages of creation, tracks on an album will run into legal trouble and will be forced to be kept unreleased. Stop worrying about the album until the shit drops, THEN you can download all the songs and start asking what its called. For now just pop in some of his older shit and vibe with what you got and leave the dude alone. Payce.

I’m reading it and I’m like, “yeah!!!” It’s true too. And now he’s relying less on Dre because he has become a producer himself. Look at some of the work he’s done on Obie’s and D12’s albums! And the thing is, with ‘D12 World’ Dre didn’t have any input whatsoever, and there’s so much more variety, versatility, and energy in it than 2001’s ‘Devil’s Night’ (not to say it wasn’t a great album either!) and that along with the help of his reputation as a solo artist (think ‘My Band’—rolls eyes), is going to have that album selling like hotcakes.
I don’t think we as Eminem fans have anything against other people who aren’t into his music, we’re just very defensive when it comes to people criticizing him for his work. If you people who disrespect him can’t see that he’s revolutionizing the music industry, opening up doors for new talent and improving race relations and society with his music, then that’s fine. I just think that you shouldn’t say anything against him until you can accept the fact that he’s here and doing something, and can put him up with the other hip-hop greats as well. Not to say that you aren’t allowed the right to your own opinion, it’s good to debate. But you really need to consider the impact he’s had on the world in the past five years. And what about all the people he’s touched along the way? He’s a genius, and he’s just going to continue being that while he gets better at his job.
